My first cloud upload of files, photos from my iMac is unbelievably slow. After 20 hours only 25% of my total of files, which is less 200 GB, has uploaded. I turned off energy saver, turned the computer off and on, checked internet speed (excellent) and still sloth like speed. Are there any other tips to speed it up? Thanks

Run Activity Monitor and look at the Network tab. What upload speed are you seeing?

Be sure to distinguish between Mbps and MBps. 8 Mbps = 1 MBps.

You got ~ 50 GB over 20 hours. That's 2.5 GB/hour, or about 0.04 GB per minute = 40 MB/min ~ 1 MB/sec.

My internet provider gives me about 225 Mbps = 30 MBps for download, and about 10 Mbps = 1.25 MB/sec for upload. So your 1 MB/sec is similar. What does your internet provider provide you for downlink and uplink speeds?

Even if your service is for more, the Apple Servers might be restricting the speeds, or if you are on WiFi your actual speeds may be lower.
