iPhone 11 Pro Max - Frequently Used Apps

Someone gave incorrect information saying that if frequently used Apps are no longer showing when you swipe down from middle of home screen, just check in Settings > Siri & Search > etc. Everything on Siri settings allows spotlight search and all apps are toggled to active. Bad info. Please can someone tell me from the home screen how to swipe and see the Icons of the apps I have most recently used. It used to be there when swiping from the middle of the screen downward. It no longer does!
