How can I bulk download my iPhone photos and videos while retaining their original metadata ?

When I tried this I noticed the photos and videos were time stamped with the time of download. This is extremely annoying because I want to organise them in a backup file system in date time order of when the photos and videos were originally created, not at the point of downloading them.
