Universal control not working between iPad and MacBook Pro

Hey there, hoping I can get some help here. I'm trying to use universal controll between my iPad Pro (2nd gen) and MacBook Pro (M1 2020). But nothing seems to be working.

OS versions:

Mac - 12.4
iPad - 15.5

First 2 checkboxes from universal controll are enabled on Mac
Handoff and coursor and keyboard are enabled on iPad
Both devices are on the same wifi network
Both has bluetooth on
I am using 2FA
I've tried restarting both devices
I don't have any software updates

Not sure what else I can do here.. does anyone has any pointers on what else I can try?
