iMessage got scrambled after activating iCloud

I have a iPhone 8 and iOS 14. After I activated iCloud for iMessage all my SMS timestamps got messed up.

iMessage is showing old messages as if they were sent the same day I activated the cloud service. iMessage digs up old messages that I send and also the ones sent to me. SMS are in a completely random order and all the threads are unreadable. I update to iOS 15 but it did not help. I tried to activate/deactive iMessage and the automatic time zone. Nothing helps.

Is this a common bug ?

Hi liiskiv,

We understand that you've enabled Messages in iCloud and since then, your messages aren't in the correct order.

If you go to Settings > General > Date & Time, do you have Set Automatically enabled?

If so, go ahead and disable Set Automatically, restart your iPhone then follow the same path back to enable Set Automatically again. This will reset its settings.

Do you have any VPN software or profiles installed on your iPhone? If so, we'd also suggest that you disable them and check your Messages again.

If you're still experiencing the same behavior, we'd suggest that you contact Apple directly to investigate this further with you. You can reach them here: Contact - How to Contact Us - Apple

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
