AMC+ charging to watch Better Call Saul

I have the AMC+ extension in Apple TV, yet when I go to the AMC+ channel to find Better Call Saul, it shows that I have to pay $2.99 per show. What’s up?

I did not get any resolution on here, but AMC+ had great customer service. I ended up downloading the AMC+ app rather than going through my Apple TV app. I finally was able to access Better Call Saul at no charge, unfortunately AMC+ only keeps older episodes for so long then they get removed. (Or offered at a charge) Therefore there was no way for me to start at the beginning. I ended up deleting the AMC+ app and cancelling my subscription and gave them my feedback. I will just have to wait for the new season to come out on Netflix. It’s a crazy way of doing things, in my opinion, but like I said the folks at AMC+ customer service were great. Hope that helps you.

I heard back from AMC+, they said the following:

“Each episode of season 6 of Better Call Saul is available for a limited time only. Episodes 1-4 are available through 5/31; subsequent episodes are available for 30 days after they premiere (expiring at 11:59 pm ET). Then our license expires and the episode is no longer available to view On Demand on AMC+.

We understand this limited availability may disappoint some AMC+ members. Unfortunately our streaming rights for this series are limited due to pre-existing contracts with our partners.”

I guess since they are getting such good response on it they are grabbing more dollars…

No actually, at least in our area, Indiana/US we couldn’t get Better Call Saul Season Six the much awaited and hyped final season unless you paid for it. $22. I didn’t realize it until that Monday night it premiered. I had subscribed to AMC and AMC+ through Apple TV for several months if not years off and on but definitely paying for Apple TV+ and AMC AMC + for months before the premiere episode. I emailed Apple support, tried to reach AMC/AMC+ IF they responded it was with confusing details as to licensing etc. differences between AMC AMC+ or how you subscribed to the channel. The first week I streamed it through my Spectrum TV (cable provider). But I was paying for direct access through AMC/AMC + monthly through Apple TV+. The old seasons 1-5 are still available on Netflix, and you can BUY the old and new season on Prime Video. Which in desperation I tried on the first week as well. Inexcusable double billing, deceitful advertising practices on the part of AMC/AMC+. I love Apple TV+. But AMC /AMC+ made them look bad. I also have all IOS/Apple and think their customer service is second to none, but even they couldn’t fix it.

Yea, not really Apple’s fault as far as I can tell. It is a licensing issue between the producers of the show and AMC. Apparently it was available to stream as AMC+ subscriber, but only for a few weeks after each episode aired. A real bummer of a system, but the show was so **** good I just bucked up the $22. Still disappointed and frustrated they did it this way though.

I have same problem I subscribe to AMC + through my Apple TV + App. When I clicked on “Better Call Sal “ season 6 part 2 it said purchase rest of season $22. Seriously?????? I ended up air playing it for “free” through my Spectrum Account /App on AMC. I have no problem with HBO /HBO Max/AMC/AMC + having material on the streaming app that’s exclusive to the streaming service, although it seems somewhat unfair to cable subscribers without smart tv’s or airplay devices. But in app purchases for a major series you are already paying for with the streaming service is bad bad PR. Especially when it’s a sub quality app. I have a 3gen Apple TV and it still works better than our brand new smart Roku platform smart TV in streaming apps in general. I will notify AMC customer service to let them know if it’s a mistake.

I ended up buying the entire 6 season for $22 on AMC+ also after having a subscription to AMC AMC+ through Apple. Also had to stream it through my iPhone 12 or my IPad Pro 2020. So huge hassle expense and unlike other series could not get the AMC+ App on the Apple TV page to play on Apple TV had to tie up one of my devices which I use for business and personal and pay a small fortune for plus for Apple Support etc!!!!!! What was the lame excuse? They had no control over AMC+ then why did they hype the combo packages of channels non stop before Better Call Saul Season 6 finally arrived?
