Split view button

Hi I have an iPad 7th gen, and I want to get rid of the 3 dots on top of my screen used for split view and I don’t know how to. Ive looked through my settings and no luck. Its such a bother for me whenever im on an app where i have to change my highlighter colour, the options are on top of the screen as well and directly aligned with the 3 dots. How do i disable it or get rid of it? or even change its position?
