Watch pairing stalled and can’t reset watch

I got a a new phone 13 pro max and wanted to pair my Apple Watch 4 series. Everything started fine and the Apple logo with the ticker circle began to count down progress and froze in about the 2 o’clock location. I have been unable to restart the pairing and unable to restart the watch. It just frozen on the “countdown” progress screen

Thank you once I let the battery run down and reboot the watch. I did as you suggested and it worked. Thank you

Did you unpair the watch from your old phone first?.
