Crackling sounds on Macbookpro 16"

Hi

I am experiencing cracking sounds when playing music on my Macbook Pro 16" M1 Pro 2021.

The laptop is up to date with operating system (12.4). I tried playing sounds that are on the hard disk and without internet connection and the problem persists, so doesn't seem to be a connection issue.

There are different clips to remedy the issue, like changing the Mhz or deleting plist files but nothing works yet.

Hello amirreuveni,

Does the sound issue occur in safe mode? If you are not familiar with the safe mode steps, you can follow the steps here: How to use safe mode on your Mac to get it done. Once in safe mode, you'd want to use the Mac as you normally would to see if the issue occurs again. You can tell when the Mac is in safe mode because on the desktop it will show the words Safe Boot in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

If so, let's test in a new Administrator account to see if the issue is the same: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Best regards

You're most welcome, amirreuveni,

If you're unable to reproduce the same behavior in safe mode, you may also consider checking your login items for your administrator account to help isolate this behavior further. This is a handy resource which will show you how to troubleshoot login items on your Mac: Remove login items to resolve startup problems on your Mac

If you continue to experience the same behavior, we'd suggest that you contact Apple directly to investigate this further with you. You can find their contact details here: Contact - Official Apple Support

Take care!
