Need To Backup An iPhone Xr Using An iMac Mid 2007.

Hello,

I need to know if my iPhone Xr running iOS 15.5 can be backed up

using my old iMac Mid 2007 20" knowing it running the latest

version of OS X El Capitan 10.11?

Is the latest version of iTunes able to run on the machine will be

able to support an iOS device running iOS 15.5?

I did not have any Windows based computers and every other computers

that I own are running Linux distros.

I would like to give it a try but, I don't have access to this Mac

until Saturday morning and my iPhone currently need to be serviced. I

wish to be able to make a backup before having it serviced so if they

request the pass code, I will be able to reset the phone prior

releasing it to them and then later after the service has be done, to

restore this last one using the backup.

Thank-you,

Guillaume

It should work with El Capitan, but I’ve never tried. This says Mojave or earlier→How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
