Has Apple any intention of upgrading the interoperability of Mail

So for example you can reply to an email with an appointment? Or set a reminder? There is so much functionality in other mail clients that hasn't existed in Mail.

Mail appears to have been the forgotten child of Apple and it should be a core focus of system productivity development. Even when looking for Mail as a topic in the lists below ... I can't find it. Everything BUT Mail is listed.

PLEASE give Mail a complete overhaul.
