Mac takes forever to delete a single file

Hi I have a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021) Apple M1 Pro 16 GB macOS Monterey 12.4 & whenever I try to delete a file like a screenshot it takes more than 10 minutes to delete it and the finder crashes. I have more than 75% storage free so I don't think it's a storage problem.

I'm Software developer and use VSCode also that application gets slow time to time. I don't know what's going on this mac is literally brand new.

You have multiple vpn extensions and "antivirus".

Unless required to connect to a workplace or school network, vpn can in fact decrease your security:

Public VPN are anything but private

And a lot more about keeping your mac secure:

There is some stuff in the Clean Up section. You can use Etrecheck to get rid of it.

Mind you, this stuff is not actually running, but are leftover files and do at least make reading the report more difficult - for example, it would seem that MalwareBytes and pangps were still running:

Launch Daemons:

[Other] com.malwarebytes.mbam.rtprotection.daemon.plist (Not signed - installed 2022-05-09)

[Loaded] com.malwarebytes.mbam.settings.daemon.plist (Not signed - installed 2022-04-27)

[Other] com.paloaltonetworks.gp.pangpsd.plist (Not signed - installed 2022-02-03)

when in fact the code for those files was removed, and these plists are "dangling":

Clean up:

/Library/LaunchAgents/com.paloaltonetworks.gp.pangps.plist

/Applications/GlobalProtect.app/Contents/Resources/PanGPS

Executable not found

/Library/LaunchAgents/com.paloaltonetworks.gp.pangpa.plist

/Applications/GlobalProtect.app/Contents/MacOS/GlobalProtect

Executable not found

/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.malwarebytes.mbam.rtprotection.daemon.plist

/Library/Application Support/Malwarebytes/MBAM/Engine.bundle/Contents/PlugIns/RTProtectionDaemon.app/Contents/MacOS/RTProtectionDaemon

Executable not found

So run Etrecheck again and follow the instructions in the Clean Up section to remove these dangling files.

An application may be using one of the files inside your Mac’s Bin.

You can resolve this issue by selecting the “Apple” logo in your

Mac’s menu bar, choosing “Force Quit … ” then closing the application in

question.

If you’re unsure which application is interfering with the “Empty

Bin” command, you can always restart your Mac, which will close all

applications.

When your Mac restarts, make sure you empty the Bin before launching any applications!

Make sure all files are unlocked

If the Bin contains a file that’s locked, this can prevent you from emptying this successfully.

If the Bin only contains a handful of files, you may be able to check each of these files manually by Ctrl+ clicking each file, then selecting “Get Info.” If you discover a locked file, you can unlock it.
