I just solved the issue, I first deleted the voice memo app and turn it off from iCloud and updated my phone to ios16 and transferred my data to another iphone with ios16. Make sure both phones are plugged in a charger and you have good internet connection. After data transfer on new phone the issue of voice memo has been resolved and to resolve the issue on the old phone you can reset it

Because this file on my phone is saying it's taking up 35.64 GB.

I don't even care why. I'm not interested in apple's reason for this mistake. How can I fix this?

Found this issue while trying to Backup an iPhone SE 2nd gen. The Backup ended up being half a terabyte out of a 64gb model! Deleted all voice memos and then the app but 495gb still exists. I called apple about the Backup issue before I found this problem.

Was a resolve found for this problem? I have backed up all the voice memos from my iPhone 12 and MacBook pro. I then removed all voice memos from iPhone, iPad, and computer. I am operating at the most recent iOS for each device. I’ve tried deleting the app, toggle info off and on back up in iCloud through each device, and now all voice memos are backed up on an external hard drive they don’t even exist on the iCloud or any device. Yet, .com.apple.Voicememos continues to take up 44GB on my iPad, and 19gB on my phone.

Hello, has there been a resolve found for this problem? I have backed up all the voice memos from my iPhone 12 and MacBook pro to an external hard drive and removed all memos and apps from all devices including my iPad where they started loading onto. The app on my computer shows empty (including recently deleted). All devices are up to date, they have been turned off and restarted and I’ve toggled voice memos off and on in the iCloud back up through each device. Voice memos do not exist on the iCloud or any device. Yet, .com.apple.Voicememos continues to take up 44GB on my iPad, and 19gB on my phone. Please help fix this.

Hey, did you find a resolution to this? Maybe if I tried to update to iOS 16 by Dow Maldini update on my computer it would go away, because I really don’t want to factory reset my phone to try and make the issue go away

Com.Apple.voice memos are really screwing up many iPhones. Can anyone help us with this problem. It is a huge problem Apple folks.

Hello Apple team, I have the same issue and I was able to listen to the voice memos and I sent them to another iphone via Airdrop and deleted the app afterwards yet the voice memos storage kept showing usage of 2.3TB and my phone capacity is 128GB. Now I am trying to update my phone to ios16 to see if the bug might be fixed. Is there any update to solve this issue??

I have updated and the issue did not resolve itself. No one from apple has responded to my inquiry about how to manage this issue. I have tried everything suggested, short of factory resetting my phone. I would appreciate some kind of feedback.
