Siri's voice distorted on CarPlay

Last week Siri's voice while on CarPlay became distorted. Everything else was normal IE: music and audio from maps worked fine. After spending hours with Apple Support to no avail I did the same with the car dealer trying to troubleshoot a potential Chrysler Uconnect problem. In the end, Jeep/Uconnect said it was an Apple problem and Apple said it was a Jeep/Uconnect problem. After spending a week trying to diagnose the problem myself I found by accident changing Siri's voice from Australian Siri to American Siri fixed the problem. I also noted that when I did the change there was a download for all voices. I was then able to use any voice without distortion. So, if you are having this problem try changing Siri's voice as a first remedial step.
