Fan Loudness/Mac overheating when using Noteability

I have a 2019 Macbook air and whenever I use the app Noteability my fan runs like crazy and my energy impact is in the 90s. I close my other programs when using Notability and I checked to make sure my computer is fully updated. My friends who also use Noteability have newer macs and do not run into this issue. I'm looking to see if anyone else is running into this issue and if anyone has any advice on what to do.

Looks like the Mac is heating up when using this third party app

What I would suggest here is that to check if the Notability app is malfunctioning or not. To check that, you will need to open up the Activity Monitor in your Mac, open Notability and use it normally. When the Mac starts to heat up and the fan would start running loud, you can check in the Activity Monitor and go to the CPU tab. Check how much %CPU it is using up. If it goes 70% or more, then that can be considered malfunctioning. You may need to uninstall Notability and reinstall it again.

Also it would help if you can How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

Hope this helps!

You can't really judge your Mac by others as all Macs are different.

Do you have a case or cover installed that impedes air flow? Are you using it on a soft surface like your lap, sofa or a bed? There are be many reasons for heating up. The fans will run as soon as a given temp is reached; that doesn't necessarily indicate overheating though.

Have you attempted to clean out the air vents ? They do sometimes get clogged with dust and such and that's more likely on older Macs.
