AVCHD and BDMV - view as folder

Does anyone here know how to make the finder see AVCHD and BDMV as folders instead of packages?

I know I can right click, and show packages, but I want it to just be a folder.

I used to do this, long ago in RCDefaultApp.prefpane, but that is deprecated for a long time.

I am trying to do it with SwiftDefaultApps.prefpane, but it doesn’t seem to work, or at least not if I try to set Finder or WindowServer as the default app for it.

I bet someone smarter than me, can tell me a magic terminal command to do this, or any other method that will work.

Thanks!

I think either you didn’t read, or didn’t understand my question...Unless I missed the instructions for the answer in your links, if so please forgive me and point me to it?

I was able to in previous versions, use a prefpane called RCDefaultApp.prefpane. I could select AVCHD and BDMV in the list of file associations, look to the write, and uncheck everything. At that point, they would behave as folders, instead of packages.

I currently use right-click (actual two finger tap and hold on my trackpad), and select "Show Packages." I wish to be able to just double-click like any other folder.

I have no problem doing what I need to do with my video files, which typically uses VLC (to count the combined length of the videos), "Timestamp Photo and Video.app" to process them in the manner needed, and QuickTime Player to view and take snapshots.

So in summary, I wish to have MacOS not see the AVCHD and BDMV folders as packages, but as folders.

Thanks!
