Email forwarding not working after update to iOS 15.5

Our employees are increasingly having problems forwarding emails with the native iPhone Mail app. This affects various models, but not all mailboxes. For some, deleting and reconfiguring the affected mailbox has helped. For some, the problem reappeared shortly thereafter. Has anyone had this problem before or know how to solve it?

The error message is:

Cannot Send Mail

An error occurred while delivering this message.

If you're unable to send mail from only one account specifically, take a look over the tips here: If you can’t send email on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If there is inconsistency with the issue being resolved by removing and re-adding the account, we'd recommend contacting whoever hosts your email for support after confirming all of your information is correct and the tips are followed as outlined that article.

Hi DerekM87,

I have already worked through the workaround from the article.

In general, the E-Mails can be sent, it is only about the problem with forwarding. Last week another colleague told me about the problem and I wanted to recreate it, but everything worked as it should. The problems are probably only temporary and it was not necessary to "delete/re-add the profile". Maybe the Exchange Server is the cause... On the other hand, sending the E-Mails works without any problems at the "forwarding issue" time.
