See if by default iCloud Drive got turned on— look for your files there.

Finder>Go>Go to Folder>copy & paste:

~/iCloud Drive (Archive)

iCLoud Drive (Archive) - here you should find all your files

Hey!

Do you mean the Documents folder entirely? So no links in Finder and so on?

Check that by clicking on menu bar (where  icon is located) Finder –> Go –> Computer –> #your drive –> Users –> #your user folder –> (use Cmd+ Shift +. shortcut to enable hidden files view)

Also it could be iCloud related, check your prefs for sync (or by going to the iCLoud.com, login and look in Documents or iCloud Drive)
