TC 3T airport utility >networktab>router mode:off(bridge mode)

while using Centurylink C1100z MODEM/ROUTER connected via DSL, and sharing (bridging?) with Airport Extreme downstairs in family room. Airport utility indicates nothing selected in network tab for the Extreme. Should one turn off the c1100z wireless wifi function in order to use it ONLY AS A MODEM? How does one know if the Time Capsule Router is primary (preferred)?

Thanks for thoughts on this one

Turning off the WiFi on the CenturyLink modem/router will not make it a modem only. It will still be a wired modem/router that does not provide WiFi service.

This would be the correct setup to use if you want to use the WiFi on the Time Capsule as your primary signal. On the other hand, you might want to use the WiFi on the Centurylink modem/router and turn off the WiFi on the Time Capsule, so it could be used as a wired backup hard drive only.

Your call on that, since there really is no right or wrong setup here.
