Unlock an Iphone 7 Plus

I called T-Mobile to unlock my Iphone 7 Plus and they said they did but I cannot insert a foreign Sim. It says it's not compatible. T-Mobile said to call Apple.

Apple has nothing to do with cellular unlocks of iPhone. You need to get help from T-Mobile directly. Elevate it within T-Mobile if necessary.

What is the exact text of the error message you received?

Have you restored your device after T-Mobile unlocked it?

If you go to Settings->General->About->Carrier Lock what does it say?
