will watchOS be supported on ios 16

I have an Apple Watch series 3 and I see that the new WatchOS is will support the Series 3 watch. I don't blame apple it has been years since the release of the Series 3. I'm just wondering if my watch will no longer be connected to my phone once iOS 16 is released to the public. I also has a developer account to make games on IOS.
