Airpod pro mismatched firmware

My AirPod pro earbuds will only allow one to work at a time and cannot put both in the case at the same time or I get a flashing orange light. I checked and my left earbud has firmware 4C165 and the right is 4E71. I tried everything to try to get the left airpod to update and I am out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated of how to solve this issue
