Alarms through hearing aids don’t work

alarms used to play through hearing aids. Either with upgrade to iOS 15.5 or iPhone 13 mini, the alarms/timers only play through the iPhone speaker. Phone calls/call notifications still play through hearing aids. Configuring an alarm sound plays through hearing aid, but not when the alarm goes off.
