Is the iPhone 5s Model# A1533 a 4G LTE phone? I believe it is? If it is, does that mean it will work with any 4G LTE carrier? Specifically, Metro-PCS? Metro-PCS is telling me I need to buy a new phone because the 3G service is being discontinued on 7/1/22. Is this a sales gimmick? Do I need to change any settings in my phone to make it work with 4G LTE? I don't understand.

Hi KiltedTim, thank you for your reply. I'm not sure what Voice OverLTE is but, I've read in order for a 4G phone to work it must have VoLTE or HD Voice. I just called Metro PCs and I was told the iPhone 5s is 4G and it would still work. I'm not sure if their sales staff knows the answer. I'm assuming VoiceOverLTE is the same as VoLTE?

Yes, the iPhone 5S supports 4G. No, it doesn't support Voice over LTE (VoLTE).
The US carriers are requiring devices capable of VoiceOverLTE. That means an iPhone 6 or higher. The iPhone 5 will not function as a phone on any US network once the 3G networks are shut down entirely.
You need a new phone.
