Share ETA missing iOS 15.5 Apple Maps

Anyone else seeing this? Was trying to share ETA with my son today and the option on Apple Maps where you slide up at the bottom of the map to "Share ETA" is gone.

All it shows is END and "Add a stop" and "Report Incident" all stacked like a menu instead of the round icons it used to show.

I've searched online and all the location setting are correct (he can see me on Find iPhone). It works fine on the wife's phone (iOS 14.8)

Hi Sean F1,

When navigating to Settings > Maps, is the option for "Share ETA" turned on? If so, are you able to use Siri to share your ETA?

"Share your estimated time of arrival (ETA)

Siri: Say something like: “Share my ETA.” Learn how to ask Siri.

Or without asking Siri, you can do the following:

  1. Tap the route card at the bottom of the screen, then tap Share ETA.
  2. Choose one or more suggested contacts, or tap Open Contacts to find a contact."

That information and additional helpful details can be found here: Things you can do while following a route in Maps on iPhone

You can also check to see if you have enabled the Driving Focus feature, and if ETA works as expected with this turned off.

Stay focused while driving with iPhone

If all settings are correct, force close the Maps app and complete a normal restart of your iPhone to test sharing your ETA again.

It should be listed as the guide pages shared above are for iOS 15. Keep us posted on what you find.

Best!

Howdy Sean F1,

Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.

If you're not seeing "Share my ETA" listed, let's check to see if this may have been disabled. To check this, you'd go to Settings > Map. The following information has additional details on this, and you can locate more information here: Things you can do while following a route in Maps on iPhone - Apple Support

Or without asking Siri, you can do the following:

1. Tap the route card at the bottom of the screen, then tap Share ETA.

2. Choose one or more suggested contacts, or tap Open Contacts to find a contact.

You can also add a location to your Favorites, then choose a contact to automatically receive your ETA whenever you start turn-by-turn navigation to that location.

To stop sending ETA information, tap Sharing at the bottom of the screen, then tap a name.

People using devices with iOS 13.1, iPadOS 13.1, or later receive a Maps notification with your ETA, and they can track your progress in Maps. People using devices with earlier versions receive the notification through iMessage. People using other mobile devices receive an SMS message.

Note: Standard carrier data and text rates may apply.

To turn off Share ETA, go to Settings  > Maps.

We hope that's able to help. If not, try a different route and destination to see if it's isolated to a specific location. In addition, let us know which iPhone and iOS version you're using if this continues. Be sure not to post any personal information or serial numbers here.

Have a great day!
