I recently lost the ability to copy & paste text (or anything else) into Messages. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and have a fix they can recommend? Thanks.

If you can't copy and paste text or in Messages on your iPad, try restarting to see if that helps: Restart your iPad

Are you able to paste as expected into other apps such as Notes or Safari?
Does this happen when attempting to copy text from multiple apps?
Does that persist after force closing and relaunching the Messages app? Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support

Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately, I see no options or any response when I tap the Messages line to paste an item after copying from another app. I used to get the typical Paste button, but now, nothing.
I’ve tried restarting. I think I may try wiping and repopulating my iPad from a backup. I don’t think there are any settings that have changed. It’s probably corrupted, right?
Thanks for these suggestions. I don’t have trouble copying or pasting from or into any other applications other than Messages. I frequently close my apps, and have gone through the steps to both force close Messages and restart my iPad. This is a fairly new iPad Pro with up to date OS. I’m stumped.
