2016 Macbook Pro 15" Backlight Service Replacement Program / flexgate

Just curious if anyone's heard any updates about the 2016/2017 Backlight Service Replacement Program, which still only seems to exist for the 13" Macbook Pro even though it also affects the 15" model. The screen on my 15" has been "dead" for a year and I refuse to pay over $600 to get it repaired due to a design issue. Thanks.

This is a user to user only forum. No one from Apple is here and Apple doesn't comment in this forum. Other than providing this link to all of the current Service Bulletins, no would have any inside knowledge of things Apple may or may not be looking at.
