Turning off Apple Studio Display while leaving Mac Studio running

Question about using an Apple Studio Display with a Mac Studio. I've seen older threads with answers from folks with lots of "points" saying the only way to turn the display off without turning off the computer is to unplug it the Thunderbolt cable (or unplug the display power cable I guess).

What I'm wondering is if it's possible to access the Desktop & Screen Saver tab in System Prefs and set a "Hot Corner" to "Put Display to Sleep." Then combine that with the "Energy Saver" tab set to "Never turn the display off" plus check the box "Prevent your Mac from automatically sleeping when the display is off."

So if that would work, all you should have to do is swipe the cursor to the hot corner which will put the display to sleep while the Mac keeps running til it's shut down.

Thoughts?

I had also posted this question on a couple Mac forums and a fellow wrote back that he tried it on an iMac and got it to work as I desired with one change ... setting the Energy Saver slider to "Never" didn't work. Selecting the Hot Corner would put the display to sleep but after a short period, it would come back on and go into screen saver mode.

But he discovered that setting the Energy Saver slider to the first tick mark to the left of 15 minutes did the trick. The display would sleep all night while the CPU continued to run.

Now whether this will work with the Mac Studio and Apple Studio Display, I still don't know. Believe I'll make a Genius Bar appointment at the closest Apple Store and see if I can set up a demo unit to try it out.
