Can't accept new Terms and Conditions in iOS AppStore

Hi all, as I've seen in this forum before, I can't accept the new Terms and Conditions in the iOS AppStore and therefore can not install any app updates.


Issue: Trying to update Whatsapp, a prompt asks me to agree to the new terms and conditions. I click "Okay", the Terms load, then I click on "Accept". The window goes away. Whatsapp then pretends like it's going to update (circle is turning), but it never starts the download process.

That goes on for a couple of minutes, then it stops and shows the "Update Whatsapp" button again.


I'm on iOS 15.5 in the german Appstore


I've tried so far:

  • Hard closing Appstore, rebooting
  • Updating iOS to the newest version
  • Signing out of the Appstore account, rebooting, signing back in
  • Changing the Appstore country
  • Changing the payment method


Nothing worked. Any other ideas?

We appreciate you reaching out and are here to help. We understand that you're running into an issue with WhatsApp updates. Try out the actions provided in article, If you can’t download or update apps on your iPhone or other Apple device. In addition to the steps from the article, you can also try offloading the app and reinstalling. To do this, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage > WhatsApp > Offload App, and then select Reinstall App.
