Can my mobile get hacked by downloading an app?

I downloaded a vpn app through a website and later I got a notification saying that my phone was hacked later it told me to install another app to get rid of hackers. I didn’t install the app. I disconnected the vpn and deleted the vpn app. Now, was the notification which told that my mobile was hacked false? how will I know that my mobile got hacked? From what I heard iPhones do not get hacked that easily so I’m hoping my mobile isn’t hacked..

👉 It is highly recommended to only download apps, music, ringtone and others from the App Store & iTunes Store.

If you have not jailbreak your iPhone, it is possible to hack your iPhone.

Create a strong password for your Apple ID, It is best if your password consists of eight or more characters and include upper and lowercase letters, and at least one number. You can also add extra characters and punctuation marks to make your password even stronger.

Never provide your password, passcode, security questions, verification codes, recovery key or any other account security details to anyone else. Apple will never ask you for this information.
