Apple Music automatically adding songs on iPhone

How do I prevent my iPhone from automatically playing music not on my iPhone? It’s driving me crazy when I get in the car and songs in my library but not on device automatically decide they should play. I don’t simply want to see downloaded music in the menu, I do not want songs in my library but not on device to play at all. I do still want my iPhone to automatically connect and play music in the car but only on device music. Playlists automatically add additional music from my library as well when they end. What’s the point curated songs and playlists if it grabs any random stuff from my library? My settings already say don’t sync library but it does it anyway. iPhone 12 Pro Max on iOS 15.5.
