Hello
I have two MacBooks and the wrong name appears on the AirDrop tap on the both. Resetting the sharing name does not correct the AirDrop name. I also checked the user profile of the Apple account and confirmed the wrong name is not entered anywhere.
Where is AirDrop loading the wrong name from?

Have you checked Contacts to make sure your card is mark as your card?
I have done some research and found out marking your own card as your card is the solution for iOS. Changing the computer name using the Sharing applet as some bloggers suggest is apparently the solution for macOS, but this one failed to change the AirDrop name at least on macOS version 12.3.1.
If you want to, you can send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner. Pick the closest topic you can find.
Did you restart the computer after making the computer name change?
I'm not sure it would help, but you can't upgrade to the newest version of Monterey, which is 12.4.
The update and restart after changing the AirDrop name once again did not fix it.
How can I alert Apple to this issue when macOS does not register that as a glitch?
