Is there any other way to turn off AirPod Pro's other than putting them in case?

I thought you should try to keep a mid-range (between 20 and 90%) for these electronic devices.

While you shouldn't let rechargeable batteries drain completely, it's perfectly fine to charge them completely. Charge your AirPods whenever you want or need to.

Can you giver me any general advice?

This article was written for iPhones and iPads but the more general advice is applicable to AirPods.

Actually, most Apple products (including AirPod cases) have smart battery charging, which will learn your routines, then be smart about charging the battery. Because of new battery technology, you can charge your case whenever you like (though I don't recommend letting it discharge completely).

With the case, you should get about 24 hours for your AirPods. Charging them for just five minutes will give you about an hour of listening time.

Hope that helped!
