My MacBook Air has transposed the " and @ symbols so using shift + 2 gives me " instead of @. Any ideas please?

Go to system preferences > keyboard > input sources and get rid of the item called "British PC". Replace it with the item called "British"

Hi RobboC,

We can see where that could get confusing, so we'd love to help! It sounds like the keyboard layout somehow got changed, and need to be changed back.

If you take a look at Specify a keyboard type on Mac - Apple Support, it will provide more information about keyboard types. But to change it, see the steps below.

1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Keyboard.
2. Click Change Keyboard Type, then follow the onscreen instructions.

This should help with getting your keyboard back to as you are use to working with it. Reach back out if we can help further.

Take care!
