iphone 13 greater than 90GB system data. Solution - turn off icloud photos

Not a question but wanted to share. I have an iphone 13 and System data was over 90 GB. I had backed up, reset the phone back to factory settings and restored. At first, the system data would be a few GB, but later in the day it would increase to 90 GB take up all my phone storage and I couldn't even record a video.

Scoured all over the internet and tried everything suggested including the nuclear option (see above).

Then I turned off icloud photos before I backed up my phone, reset and restore. Have not had the problem since. My total usage right now is 60+ GB and less than 6 GB is system data. Downside is can't use icloud photo, but I can use my phone.
