Animated GIFs stopped working

All of a sudden when I copy and paste an animated GIF from Google to messages on my iPhone 11, they don’t move, only paste as a still picture. Any idea what might have happened?? iOS is up to date. Restart didn’t help..

GIFs It appears out of nowhere when iOS 14.x hit GIFs were no longer saving to the photo album. I don’t get it. Apple had something working perfectly and now - boom, gone. People are talking about it all over the internet. This is another ‘big brother is watching’ thing. Makes me and others nuts. I am on iOS 14.6 and if I see a GIF in safari where I used to be able to save it to photos and it would play, now it’s a still picture. And you can’t seem to get a straight answer anywhere.

Inserting Gifs into forum threads. Hey guys, Can anyone help. I would like to be able to insert gifs to a forum thread from Giphy. However, the first time I tried there was an option to use different types such as links or embedding. Whichever way I tried it would only show as a static image. When I put the updated giphy app on my ipad when I click on a Gif now it only gives me the option of saving the gif or saving the gif onto camera roll. When I try to paste, it shows as a static image. Is it because iOs doesn’t support these actions or is the updated Giphy app the problem. I’ve searched through community questions but I can’t find anyone else who has had this problem. Thanks guys.

Try to save the gif to Photos app then add the gif from Photos app to the message
