If you had, say, a 20 second clip, is it being reduced to one 0.3 second clip, or is it being segmented into many 0.3 second clips?

Try importing into QuickTimePlayer, that will eliminate scene breaks, and should give one long clip.

The Panasonic may be inserting time breaks at 0.3 second intervals on export, so that effectively there are scene breaks being inserted. I would still try exporting into QuickTimePlayer to see if the breaks can be eliminated.

Or you could try using the Image Capture app on your Mac to import to your desktop.

All else failing, importing into iMovie and then exporting out the project would join the clips together, as previously mentioned.

So, is it that each clip on the camera, no matter what the length, is reduced to one 0.3 second fragment, with the remaining footage in the clip not being imported? Note that this is different, for example, than one 20 second clip being divided into 60 or so 0.3 second segments. In the first case footage is being eliminated whereas in the second case all footage is being imported but just split into multiple segments. In other words, when playing through all of the 0.3 files in sequence do you get the full original clip? If so, you can stitch them together by dragging them into an iMovie project and exporting the project and that will join all of the clips back together. Of course it would not work if there is missing footage. In that case you would just get incomplete fragments joined together.
