screen time passcode lockout

Why can I change the screen time settings on one family member from my MacBook, but the passcode doesn't work with the other family member? Shouldn't it be the same passcode for everyone?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.4

These are the minimum requirements to reset the ScreenTime passcode:

  • The device must run iOS/iPadOS 13.4 or later;

AND

  • You must know the Apple ID & Password that were used to set up that ScreenTime Passcode.

If you meet both above requirements, these are the instructions:--> If you forgot your Screen Time passcode – Apple Support

Shouldn't be this case, you need to erase that device following these instructions (even if related to the passcode to lock/unlock device's screen):--> If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support

The bad news is that you cannot restore data from a backup, since the ScreenTime passcode would come back in.

Interesting. I am on my 18th try of trying to enter my passcode to turn back on screen time on my son's phone. The password works fine when trying to alter my daughter's screen time settings. I even tried changing the screen time passcode, but it still doesn't work. Is there a way to remove screen time from my son's phone or something? I am concerned it will ask for the passcode, which, for some reason, it doesn't like.
