Downloading apps on Apple Watch

Every time I try and download an app on my Apple Watch, it asks me to enter my password for Apple ID which I do and then it takes me to the settings app and doesn’t download the app. Please help. I have tried reset and re-pairing the watch

Do you have screentime enabled on your phone?

Tap on screen time.

Then tap content and privacy settings

Then tap on iTunes and App Store purchases

Then tap on deleting apps and set this to allow.

Install apps and set this to allow.
