Studio Display USB-C ports stop working regularly

I have the studio display connected to my 14" M1 max MacBook pro. Several times a day, sometimes more than once an hour, all of the devices attached to the Studio Display will stop working (which includes my external keyboard, making this a really aggravating issue). At first, I thought it was related to the hub that I have connected to the display, but if I disconnect the keyboard and connect it directly to the other USB-C ports on the Studio Display, it still will not work. The only way to restore functionality is to disconnect the Studio Display from the MacBook and then reconnect it. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue. Changed out the TB cable from Mac to display and now all is fine. Those cables are very sensitive. You may have a different issue but I would give it a try. Also, if your hardware disconnects when Mac sleeps then turn off hard drive sleep in settings. Just turn off display.

Given the price tag of the Apple thunderbolt cable, I'm really hoping that's not the answer but thanks! Also turned off all the power management features to prevent sleeping, but still seeing the issue. The third option I read was to "restart" the studio display. Since Apple decided we don't need power buttons, that means unplugging/replugging. Haven't had the USB-C ports stop working since (it's only been a few hours), but I did have my audio output from iTunes start repeating 1sec of the music over and over until unplugging the cable from the MBP and reconnecting. The monitor looks great, but this is the most finicky Apple device I've ever owned (and I've owned a lot...)
