Samsung M8 Monitor, connecting to Macbook

Hello,

I have a new Macbook Pro and i purchased a Samsung M8 Monitor to pair with it for work. Upon setting up, I can only see one option for connecting the two which is screen mirroring and there is a SERIOUS lag on the mouse, applications etc on the M8 Monitor. It has has not as clear of a screen when mirroring. I tried changing resolution profile etc but still having the isue.

Does anyone have this issue or have resolved it? Is there a way to connect a Macbook without screen mirroring (via HDMI or USB-C instead) for less lag and a better and clearer connection? Thank you

I just got my monitor and figured it out! After connecting with USC-C, go to Workspace and then there will be options for connecting. If the USB-C is properly connected there will be a "PC" option there to select above all the others (Note, this is confusing because it's a mac but they really do mean personal computer here and not a non-apple product.) Then it should open up your extended display!

Step 1: Connect USB-C

Step 2: Workspaces - select PC

Step 3: Enjoy the extended display!
