I have tried it and it works much better in iOs than in the Mac; in my iPhone I can use the field names of a external spreadsheet for mail merge, but in my Mac I can only use predefined field names, I can not use the field names of a external spreadsheet, though I can link one of Apple´s predefine fieldnames to the values of the spreadsheet´s fields.
That is very annoying and weird..
Unfortunately your link redirect me (it doesn't matter how I try to access) to the Spanish guide (I am in Spain), where there isn't yet any help about mail merge...

In the extreme bottom right of that Pages User Guide, there would be United States (in my case). Click that, and you can select Catalan from the Europe countries. Why Apple did not use Spain (Catalan) is beyond me.
You would have to create 30 of each merge field and aside from being laborious to configure, I am not certain that Pages can do that anyway. I suggest that you take Foxfifth's recommendation and use the free Avery online tool to do this.
Re-read the link in my original post just to be certain you are following all appropriate steps. It is not the Mail Merge implementation from the venerable Pages '09 v4.3, by any measure.
Don't worry, Pages is a lightning rod for those having issues with it and if others are experiencing challenges with the new Mail Merge feature, they won't be bashful about posting in the Pages for Mac community.

I could not figure out how to mail merge to populate 30 labels on one page. Mail merge a label on each page works but unfortunately it does not merge multiple labels on the same page. Any help would be great!

Pages v12.1 now has Mail Merge after 8.5 years without it.
