Apple News after a reset

Hello,

I had to do a “Reset Settings” yesterday afternoon as part of process to try fix an error with my iPhone being to load my Movie Library.

I’m in Ireland and we don’t have Apple News however the reset added the Apple News app (although a few hours later that app disappeared a while - it suddenly re-appeared later in the night).

Anyway news widget (when you swipe on the Home Screen) is now showing news headlines for the US instead of Ireland.

How do I fix this?

Also, Safari no longer offers to autofill my passwords for website. What could be causing this?

Hi NeddySeagoon,

Since Apple News isn't available in your region, it will not work as expected if you have it.

Availability of Apple Media Services

For the issue you've noticed with AutoFill, the best step would be to reach out to Apple Support directly. They can be contacted here: Get Support, or by calling the most applicable phone number from this list: Contact Apple for support and service.

Best regards.

Thanks for replying.

Apple News and Apple News+ are not available in Ireland but the Apple News headline widget did work for National and local news media.

I had assumed it was just some basic version of Apple News and that I would simply need to reset something.

However someone here has told me that they noticed recently that the widget had disappeared from their phone - just within the last few weeks.

I had updated to iOS 15.5 just a couple days ago so it could be that - and not the reset that removed the widget.
