Update cover in Apple Books 2022 previously called iBooks

The latest Apple books app hasn’t worked in the same manner as the previous versions were you could add covers to missing books.

A user used to be able to drag a cover on top of the book and you can no longer do this.

does anyone have a solution that is simple instead of starting from scratch in a different app and importing?

Click the three dots next to the book you want to change the cover for, then select "Get Info". On the pop-up that comes up, drag and drop your new image file over where it shows the cover.
