Preview zoom not accurate

Try to take a screenshot of your whole screen. Then find an image that's super small, like 100px by 100px or something. Run some tests using both images and both preferences and see if you get accurate results.

I don't think so. I have a mid 2012 13" macbook pro. According to this page, it doesn't:

But even if that's the case, it doesn't make sense how it behaves. If Photoshop accurately displays the size of an image, Preview is buggy. 100% of an image size shouldn't change based on the type of screen... but well, we are dealing with Apple, so maybe in their mind, it does change haha

I think preview is a bit weird when it comes to viewing images.

For example, using your trick, I took a screenshot of my whole screen and using that image, when I hit to see the full size, it gets HUGE. Way bigger than the normal size, whereas the the other option "1 pixel etc", behaves as expected.

Now with small images, sometimes even the actual size is bigger than the actual size. It's not very consistent. It seems like a bug or something. I guess I will have to keep using Photoshop ;)
