Keyboard Text Replacement Suddenly Wonky

I have several custom entries in the keyboard text replacement options, will of which have worked just fine for months....until recently. In the past couple of weeks(?), when I put in the shortcut, the corresponding phrase will appear BUT only the last letter of the shortcut is removed and the first word of the phrase is appended to the rest of the shortcut. So, for example, if "mytitle" is supposed to expand to "Chief Wombat Wrangler," what I'm now getting is "mytitlChief Wombat Wrangler." I haven't upgraded my iOS recently (I have an upgrade available, but I'm waiting for my company's okay), so I don't know why I've suddenly been having this problem! I've tried doing a hard reboot, but it doesn't help.

Is this happening to anyone else? If so, is Apple aware and working on this issue? If not, any suggestions how I might fix the problem on my end?

TIA!

iPad Pro, iPadOS 15

Hi Lagil1526,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that your text replacements aren't working as you'd expect them to.

Do you experience the same behavior if you remove the text replacement then add it again? If so, you may consider resetting your Keyboard Dictionary if you're not able to install the latest iPadOS update yet. You can go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary. Keep in mind, any custom words or phrases you've created will be erased in this process so you'd have to set up your text replacements again.
