Apple Watch heating while charging

My watch turned off on my wrist. I tried to charge it and it didn’t work. It was hot when I took it off the charger.

If it is really hot and not just warm, that could well are a hardware issue. I would contact Apple to have the watch evaluated.

If it's really getting hot when you try to charge it, stop as it could do damage to the watch or catch fire.

Were you in the middle of workout or any strenuous activity using the watch in a lower power stage? And/or did you not receive the low power warning before it shut off?

Hope this helps some. Not much we can do about internal hardware.

Possibly just a OS error; I would restart my iPhone in airplane mode & restart the watch if you can- maybe force it & you should be fine from there!

BUT

Most likely you will need a GBar specialist; I would visit Apple- make your appt online😇

IF after it cooled & you put it on the charger & it charges- still plausible the battery inside could be defective & if so your battery may need a replacement- I would have them check though to be surest it wouldn’t happen again.
