My Apple Cash Disappeared - Missing Funds with No Transactions That Match

I went to the store to buy some groceries, and before I checked out at the register, I had $181 in my apple cash balance. I attempted to use it and it only took $43.73 out and the balance went to $0 so I had to use another form of payment for the remainder of my grocery bill (about $73). What happened to that other $137.27?!

I pulled my transaction statement, and as of that morning I SHOULD have had $181. I contacted Apple Support and they basically opened a ticket for it and were “working to resolve the issue.” I am going to have to call back every day until that money reappears because it was ACTUAL MONEY. I had no other transactions that could explain the missing balance and no subscriptions anywhere near that amount.

I’ve restarted my phone. I’ve signed out of my Apple ID, I’ve removed Apple Pay and re-added it. I am out of options and little resolution at this point. If it had been $5, I wouldn’t have been as worried. But I am at a loss, and my apple wallet has never done this. I’ve had upwards of $500+ in my Apple Wallet as cash, but now I am hesitant because if this happens again to a LARGER amount what happens?

Has anybody else had this issue or had better luck?
