Login account missing after transfer of data from iMac to Mac Studio

After transfer of data from iMac to new Mac Studio my login profile is missing and I am unable to log into new Mac. There were to login profiles on old iMac. One for remote access and one for me. There was an error noted in the transfer regarding the remote access transfer, but there is nothing showing for my personal profile login. Thus I am unable to access anything on the new Mac.

Then the data migration failed. Or I guess your TM backup could be flawed.

Try it again. You may get more users than you want, but an admin user can easily remove unwanted users or duplicated data.

Again, you always have the option to wipe, reinstall and start all over with the new Mac. Being brand new, all that's there is the OS anyway.

How to create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support

Read the full article first. Do all of what applies to you, don't skip any steps and be aware this article has links at the bottom that will complete the process. One caveat on the bootable flash drive ....

To easily make a bootable installer, get the app "Install Disk Creator". It's safe and free. It's kind of slow but it does work well. If it were me, I'd create a pair of flash drives (16GB minimum) for security.

Once you have the flash drive, you boot from it (Option key at startup) and follow the screen prompts to install the OS. Being a new Mac, you'll need to get Monterey from the App Store. Download it but use Command Q to halt the installation on that Mac. I assume you're going to use the old Mac for this.

Use the old Mac to create the bootable flash drives too.

History lesson ... first time I did this I messed it up several times. But the. thing is, you can always start over so no matter how many times I messed up I got it right. I guess I wasted two hours tops.

From a cold start, startup and immediately press and hold the Option key to find the bootable drives. Choose the one that says Install OS or something like that.

Maybe 40 minutes or so to complete. Maybe a lot quicker with your power. :)

"There were to login profiles on old iMac". Time Machine records both of these and their data during the normal backing up process.

Your should have been presented those two users to approve and enter each ones password. That transfers all data for each of those users to the new Mac.

Did you not do that?

All is not lost for your new Mac, but knowing exactly what you did, or didn't do, will help with assistance. If worst comes to worst, you can wipe the new Mac's drive, install the OS and start afresh from the out-of-the-box condition. But you'd still have your TM backups to contend with.
