Need to create more space between sheets in Pages!

Hi everyone!

Want to use Pages like a Microsoft's Word analogue. There is everything allright except this little inconvenience.

Hope somebody had the same question and know how to move it appart.

Thank you much.

"Want to use Pages like a Microsoft's Word analogue. "

Possible, but depends on what you consider to be "a Microsoft's Word analogue."

Pages is definitely not "a Microsoft Word clone."

Regarding the title question:

I don't think there is a setting to expand the separation between pages in either type of Pages document's on screen display.

As a workaround, you could 'mark' the foot (or head) of each page by placing a line of text characters in the Footer (or Header) box. Text placed there would give you a visual clue to the separation of pages. Here, I've done both, and moved the header and the footer to the top and bottom edges of the page. (page size set to A6 to get more pages into the image)

Unless creating an actual difference in page separation on screen is currently supported in Pages (by a means I've not yet discovered), the ability to do so would require changes to the application's coding—a change beyond the scope of these user-to-user communities.

That would require sending a Feature Request to Apple, using the Provide Pages Feedback menu item in the Pages menu.

Regards,

Barry

PS: An Alternate marker:

In this example, the Header and Footer boxes are in their default positions, but neither is currently in use.

The 'separator' is a colour-filled shape, duplicated, then moved (both copies) to the Section Layout.

Once in the Section Layout, one copy is moved to the top of the page, the other to the bottom of the page.

As the two objects are in the Section Layout, they will appear in the background of every page in that Section.

If you have created no sections and inserted no Section Breaks, your whole document will be a single section, and the bars will be on every page.

The bars will appear in printed copies as well.

To prevent that, you will need to either delete the bars from the Section Layout or reformat the bars to have no fill and no borders before printing.

Placing, moving Formatting or deleting the bars will require use of the two items at the bottom of the Arrange menu (shown below). Formatting will also require the use of the Format inspector. Open it by clicking ther Format Brush in the tool bar.
